Providing Nutrition and Education to Communities in Bhutan Through Our Partnership with the Tarayana Foundation

In 2016, the Love Peace Harmony Foundation collaborated with the Tarayana Foundation to give need-based scholarships to deserving students from rural communities to pursue not only elementary and secondary education, but also professional education at universities in Bhutan and abroad. The Tarayana Foundation is a non-profit organization working to uplift and enhance lives of vulnerable individuals and communities in Bhutan, a small and remote kingdom nestled in the eastern edge of the Himalayas.

Bhutan has recognized the importance of national happiness over national income since the early 1970s by famously adopting the goal of Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product. It is the only global index that takes into account not just material wealth, but also people’s collective happiness and well-being when evaluating a country’s prosperity. Although basic education is free in Bhutan, many children from rural communities are faced with multiple financial and practical barriers, preventing them from consistently attending school. From subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys, Bhutan’s rugged and dramatic terrain makes it challenging for children from rural areas to travel to school.

In the first five years of its operation, the Tarayana Foundation assisted more than 1,200 rural students in enrolling and attending school by providing uniforms, shoes, school bags and financial assistance where needed. One of the Tarayana Foundation’s objectives is to enable children from disadvantaged families to pursue higher education. The Love Peace Harmony Foundation also supported the Tarayana Foundation in continuing to assist more than 40 students in pursuing a college education. From mid-2015 to 2016, 11 scholarship students graduated. Click here to learn more about the Tarayana Foundation’s initiatives and projects.

Children, Youth and Families

Children represent the future, and the youth play a pivotal role in shaping our world. The foundation of our societal structure is built within families, influencing how individuals engage with the world. Harmony at home often translates into harmony beyond, while disharmony can lead to trauma and pain. The Love Peace Harmony Foundation dedicates itself to numerous volunteer and foundation-led projects worldwide, focusing on enhancing the well-being of children, youth, and families. Our initiatives include sharing the transformative love, peace, and harmony song. In the face of rising youth mental health challenges and alarming suicide rates, providing an outlet and a supportive community becomes crucial. One of our inspiring stories features Gabi, who experienced a transformative journey, overcoming challenges with the empowering influence of the love, peace, and harmony song.

Children, youth and families serve as the fundamental pillars of many societies globally, representing the future. LPHF actively partners with schools, after-care programs, shelters, orphanages and other support systems dedicated to the well-being of children, youth, and families. Our aim is to enhance their lives through the transformative power of the Love Peace Harmony Field™.

We offer the necessary materials, along with comprehensive training and support to facilitate the seamless integration and utilization of these tools within a facility. We seek collaborations with organizations and individuals committed to establishing enduring and sustainable partnerships. Our focus is on creating a collective commitment to continuous learning and growth, aligned with the values of love, peace, and harmony. Hundreds of teachers globally incorporate the song and calligraphy practice into their classrooms. This integration serves to assist children in de-escalating stress and regulating their emotions. For many it has become a part of their daily philosophy and activities with the children and staff to bring a sense of calmness, peace and wellness into the environment.

Princess Ruth Ke‘elikolani Middle School in Hawaii saw a powerful transformation after implementing the Love Peace Harmony Field™ program in 2022, addressing high detention rates, poor test scores, and low student engagement. With regular meditative and emotional regulation sessions led by LPHF volunteers, 971 students experienced benefits including reduced stress, improved focus, and a dramatic drop in detentions. Special education students, once withdrawn, now even participate in sessions with confidence, teachers report better behavior and concentration, and students previously falling behind have caught up academically—some even receiving awards. The school saw significant gains in test scores, and Principal Joe Passantino was honored as Hawaii’s 2024 Secondary Principal of the Year, demonstrating how mental well-being is vital to academic success.

Covenant House Toronto

Since 2022, our Love Peace Harmony Foundation Volunteers have been serving at Covenant House Toronto, which is Toronto’s largest youth shelter. Many of the youth who find themselves there are left with little other options to turn to than the streets, whether due to difficult domestic situations, or displacement due to political or armed conflict, or natural disasters. Our volunteers have offered not only the Love Peace Harmony Field sessions to support their mental and emotional health and wellbeing, but also programs and youth mentoring to empower them with tools fostering emotional balance, mental stability, connection with purpose and life direction.

Senior Care

Love Peace Harmony Foundation volunteers deliver rejuvenating breathing and relaxation sessions to seniors in various care settings, tailoring programs to individual needs. These sessions guide elders in reconnecting with their bodies and surroundings, promoting vitality and upliftment. Focused breathing reduces stress, improves circulation, and enhances mental clarity, all crucial for senior wellness. LPHF methods facilitate deep relaxation, easing anxieties and cultivating inner tranquility. Beyond relaxation, our special song serves as a powerful tool for emotional upliftment. Music's inherent ability to elevate mood is amplified by our song's transformative properties, designed to resonate with the heart and spirit, bringing a sense of joy and inner peace. We aim to support a comprehensive wellness journey, providing tailored sessions that bring the transformative power of love, peace, and harmony to the lives of our valued seniors, helping them find balance and ease in their daily lives, regardless of their physical limitations.

"Seniors need as much attention as children, and with the Love Peace Harmony song and calligraphies, we can help them feel the love, inner peace, and harmony they deserve." – Tom Hecker, volunteer, Germany

Love Peace Harmony Foundation Volunteers host regular workshops, mentoring, and community wellness sessions in shelters around the world, including for homeless youth, and those displaced by conflict and natural disasters.

People With AIDS Foundation Toronto

In downtown Toronto, the People With AIDS Society (PWA) offers a vital sanctuary for individuals living with AIDS, refugees, and underserved communities, providing not only essential resources like free lunches but also emotional and mental wellness through its partnership with the Love Peace Harmony Foundation (LPHF). For over a year, LPHF volunteers have hosted weekly sessions at PWA, creating a calming environment with meditative music, calligraphy tracing, and community connection, which participants say helps them feel more grounded, peaceful, and hopeful.
